If you’re experiencing difficulty chewing, unexplained headaches, jaw locking, or facial pain that impacts your daily function, it may be time to consult with a specialist. Early intervention can prevent progression and improve outcomes significantly.
At Winnipeg Orofacial Health Centre, we tailor every treatment plan to your individual needs—especially if your symptoms are related to complex medical history, trauma, or chronic conditions.
At Winnipeg Orofacial Health Centre, we offer customized appliance therapy—such as night guards or bite splints—to help manage jaw muscle pain, TMJ dysfunction, headaches, and tooth wear caused by clenching or grinding (bruxism). These therapeutic devices are part of our comprehensive care approach for patients with bite-related disorders or orofacial pain.
Appliance therapy involves the use of a finely calibrated therapeutic orthotic—often called a night guard, bite plate, or occlusal splint—designed to improve jaw joint stability, allow muscle relaxation, and relieve the symptoms associated with a misaligned bite.
Reduces overactivity in masseter & temporalis muscles to ease pain and tension.
Stabilizes the TMJ to minimize strain, clicking, and locking episodes.
Helps mitigate nocturnal clenching/grinding and protects teeth from wear.
